Guidelines for Vendors and Exhibitors
This Marketplace is open to the public. Our vision for the Marketplace is as a place where Christians can meet and enjoy fellowship, and where non-Christians who might not otherwise go into a church, can come and experience the beauty and joy of Christianity expressed through art, music and craftsmanship.
Where:
Michele Pujol Room in the Student Union Building at the University of Victoria: 3200+ square feet, high ceiling, glass windows/doors along the side that opens out onto the plaza in front. We are also planning some family-friendly activities, book signings, etc. The Marketplace will be well-advertised locally.
When:
Monday through Friday, July 26 - 30, 2010. Our hours have yet to be precisely determined but will probably be Noon - 7 pm. We will probably open later on the first day, and close early on the last day, depending on how busy it is on the Friday.
Relief for Vendors:
We will provide volunteers to cover for breaks, and volunteers for tables booked by Assembly participants. The Student Union Building has a variety of food and beverage vendors who are open during the day.
Cost for Vendors:
$100 per table, for the whole 5 days. (So $20 per table per day.) Tables are 5' long x 2-1/2' wide, and linens and chairs are provided. Vendors keep 100% of their sales, apart from the table cost which is payable before July 1. Electrical outlets are available, but must be pre-ordered. Vendors are responsible for providing their own payment-handling methods; an ATM is available onsite for customers.
Security:
Typically, vendors are covered by their own insurance. The room is secure, and locked at night. Security is present at night.
Restrictions:
We ask that vendors' work is made by them. The work must be of a type and quality that is appropriate for this venue. The exception to the made-by-hand restriction is commercial vendors, such as those listed on the Who's Coming page.
Please note:
Due to space limitations and vendor restriction guidelines, not all applications may be accepted. Your application must be accepted by the Marketplace Coordinator prior to submitting payment. Payment for vendor tables is due by July 1, 2010.
What we are looking for, from individual vendors:
Textiles Clothing Jewellery Prints, cards Wearables Pottery Ceramics Home Decor Glass Woodwork Small objets d'art Sculpture Paintings Crafts
We can accommodate larger paintings and artworks if the vendor supplies their own supports, ie easels and plinths.
